Resources to Get You Ready for Day One
Everything below exists because patients asked for it. Three quick stops cover the questions we hear most at the front desk: how to pay, what to fill out, and what savings are running right now. Bookmark this page and share it with anyone in your household who has been putting off a dentist visit.

Your First Visit, Minute by Minute
Skipping the mystery helps most first-visit nerves disappear. Come a few minutes early with your finished patient forms and we will seat you fast. Your dentist reviews your health history, asks what is bothering you (or not), and explains whatever needs attention in language that makes sense, so you leave with a plan you actually chose.
What to Bring Along
A short checklist keeps check-in quick. Bring your insurance card if you have one, a photo ID, your completed forms, and a list of any medications you take. If a previous dentist has recent X-rays, we can request them before your visit, so mention it when you call. Registering the whole family at once? Let us know and we will line up back-to-back appointments, the way most St. Bernard households prefer. Walk in with those few items and the rest is on us.
Coverage and Payment Without the Headache
Most major dental insurance plans work here, and Medicaid is welcome for children. When insurance does not stretch to cover everything, CareCredit and Sunbit split costs into monthly payments that a household budget can handle. Our financial options page lays it all out, and the front desk is happy to verify your benefits before you ever sit down. You will see a written estimate before treatment starts, so the total never sneaks up on you.
One Address for the Whole Household
New patients are sometimes surprised by how much happens in one building. Your cleaning, your teenager’s braces consult, and Grandpa’s new dentures can all come from the same team on Judge Perez Drive, with pediatric dentist Dr. Hugh Bullard for the littlest smiles and an in-house orthodontist when teeth start crowding. Fewer offices means fewer forms, fewer directions to learn, and one phone number for everything.
Walk-In Today, Even on a Saturday Morning
A cracked filling never checks your calendar first. Our Chalmette office keeps room in the day for walk-ins and same-day emergencies because that is what “We’ll See You…Today!” demands of us. Hours run Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, friendly to fishermen, refinery shifts, and school-day chaos alike.
Not sure whether your situation counts as urgent? Tooth pain that keeps you up, a broken or knocked-out tooth, and any swelling with fever are all reasons to call right away. When in doubt, phone us. A two-minute conversation can tell you whether to come straight in or watch and wait, and we would rather answer a cautious call early than see you in worse shape later.
Look the resources over, then give Louisiana Dental Center a call at (504) 277-4401 with anything else on your mind. We care for families throughout Chalmette and St. Bernard Parish, including our neighbors in Arabi, Meraux, Violet, and Poydras. Around here, the fastest way to become a regular patient is simply to show up. The door is open, and your first hello is waiting.
